Let\u2019s just say I did not grow up as one of the \u201chave\u2019s\u201d. I did have a lot (too much??) of fun. I also learned a lot of lessons. One of those lessons was the value of hard work and that has gotten me to where I am now. I have worked for everything I have. I will always consider myself a blue collar kind of guy. I was always active growing up and participated in several sports in high school. I still stay very active and in fact do not do well with lying around doing nothing for long periods. I surf, golf, ski, board, wake board and play basketball whenever I can. Another lesson I learned was how to cook. First out of necessity, but now I really enjoy it. I also enjoy pairing wine with food. I am still amazed at how much a wines flavor can change when it is paired with certain foods. I lean towards red wine, but with certain foods or in warmer weather love a good white. Syrah, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Malbec\u00a0and blends are my favorite (for now), as well Chardonnay and Viogneir on the white side. I am not real big on brand names and love finding great \u201ctable\u201d wines in the $10-15 range. My go-to cocktail is a gin and tonic and with all the different gins being produced these days it\u2019s a lot of fun tasting how one drink can change so much.
